Current policyUpdated 28 September 202618+ service
01

Be genuine

  • Use an honest profile and create flares that reflect a real plan.
  • Do not impersonate another person or mislead people about a venue, activity or meeting point.
  • Do not spam requests, messages, connections or flares.
02

Respect consent and boundaries

  • A join request, connection or message never implies consent to anything else.
  • Accept a decline, removal, block or request to stop contact immediately.
  • Do not harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate or sexually pressure another person.
03

Protect people from harm

  • Do not promote violence, hate, exploitation, scams or illegal activity.
  • Do not share another person's private information or exact location without permission.
  • Do not use Flare if you are under 18. Do not use Flare to identify, contact or arrange a meeting with a minor.
04

Protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation

Flare – Spontaneous Meetups has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

  • Do not groom, sexually coerce or sextort a child, traffic a child for sexual exploitation, sexualise a minor, or arrange sexual or offline contact with a minor.
  • Do not create, request, upload, store, share, promote or facilitate access to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including altered or computer-generated depictions involving a minor.
  • Use Flare's in-app reporting control and select ‘Child sexual abuse, exploitation or minor safety’ if you encounter concerning conduct. Do not download, copy, forward or attach suspected CSAM.
05

Meet thoughtfully

Use your judgment, prefer suitable public venues, tell someone you trust about your plans and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable. Contact local emergency services when immediate help is required.

06

Enforcement

Flare may review reports; make prohibited content inaccessible; and restrict, suspend or ban accounts when these standards are breached or community safety may be at risk. Relevant records may be preserved in server-restricted storage only where lawful and necessary for safety, emergency or legal response. Confirmed CSAM will be reported to the appropriate authority as required by applicable law. Blocking immediately separates two accounts within the app.
